August 11 marked the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the mass extermination of Jews in Rostov-on-Don in Zmievskaya Balka, the largest execution of Jews in the occupied territory of the RSFSR during the Great Patriotic War.
Dr. Ilya Altman, Director of the Center for the History of the Holocaust and Genocides, will go on the air with the Neutral Zone program on the Valdman-LINE TV channel, and talk about this tragedy, dubbed the “Russian Babiy Yar”.
He will focus on genuine historical documents that shed light on the true number of victims, answer questions, speak about the brutal methods of Nazi reprisals against Jews, and also about whether it should be considered a gross falsification of history to keep silent about the facts of the extermination of Jews on the territory of Russia occupied by the Nazis. The program is hosted by Alexander Valdman.
