On June 24, the final stage of the video contest “We Remember. In words, in music, in granite” was held, dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and organized as part of the annual youth festival of social and communication projects.
Students were asked to make videos about the famous and the less known memorial sites of the Great Patriotic War in Russian cities with an obligatory use of a musical phrase from a military-patriotic song.
The competition was held in 2 stages: I - qualifiers (in electronic format), II - finals (face-to-face with video demonstrations). Before June 10, over 100 students of the Faculty of Advertising and PR of RSUH in teams of 3-4 people made their presentations to the steering committee, and from June 14 to 18, the finalists took part in a series of master classes "Video production" under the guidance of Dr. Mark Limansky.
Dr. Limansky is a lecturer at RSUH, a practicing screenwriter, editing director, creative producer, author and host of the Cancel Culture program on RuTube.
At the master class, students learned the basics of video composition, video production, video artistic design, camera work and editing.
The master classes helped the contestants to understand how video production works at a professional level, as well as gain basic skills in this area. After training, the teams of participants started filming videos.
