On June 10, a student conference "Orient and Antiquity" was held at RSUH, dedicated to the culture and history of the Orient, Ancient Greece and Rome.

The participants of the Conference, organized by the Institute of Oriental Cultures and Antiquities of RSUH, were undergraduate and graduate students, as well as independent researchers.

The work of the Conference was held in three sections: "Orient", "Ancient Greece and Hellenism" and "Ancient Rome".

The section "Orient" was opened Mr. Evgeny Barsukov, a student of the Institute of Oriental Cultures and Antiquity, with the presentation "Trends in the development of the cult of royal ancestors in the era of Seti I: the legitimation of power and amunocracy". He informed that the development of links with the divine being, primarily with Amun, showed that for Seti, the traditional idea of the king’s “imperial” god lineage was no less important than it was for the XVIII dynasty. He also said that building a more in-depth relation of royal power with the cult of Amun would later become the basis for creating the ideology of amunocracy.

At the sections "Ancient Greece and Hellenism" and "Ancient Rome", the presenters talked about the attitude of modern Iraqi society to the heritage of the Sumerian-Babylonian civilization, "Religious diplomacy" of the Achaemenids during the Greco-Persian wars, the reasons for the conclusion of an alliance with Rome by the Numidian king Masinissa during the Second Punic War, the role of women in the public cult of Republican Rome, etc.
