Over 520 people became prize-winners and took second and third places, and 57 participants became the laureates.
Representatives of all federal districts and regions of the Russian Federation, as well as 15 countries of the world, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, the Donetsk People's Republic, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the Lugansk People's Republic, Mongolia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, became participants in the Olympiad.
The awards ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Steering Committee, Rector Alexander Bezborodov. He congratulated the winners of the Olympiad and said that they had achieved truly outstanding results.
Professor Natalya Gvozdetskaya, Head of the Department of English Philology at the Institute of Philosophy of RSUH, became the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Languages. She noted that the Olympiad tasks presumed not only knowledge of the basics of grammar and vocabulary, but also the knowledge of linguistic and regional studies.
Dr. Valery Tyupa, Deputy Chairman of the Literature Committee, noted that every university scholar considered students to be co-authors, because “without good students, we would not be able to do research”.
Professor Marina Bulanova noted that the students had had to cope with a most difficult task and demonstrated versatile knowledge.
Dr. Vladimir Shunikov said that RSUH offered advanced training courses that met modern educational trends and challenges.
