On April 1-2, 2022 students of Student Association “Document. Archive. Diplomacy” visited the Feodorovsky convent in Pereslavl-Zalessky as part of the program “Monastery workshops”.
The event was organized by Dr. Anastasia Konkova, Associate Professor of the Department of Documentation, Audiovisual and Scientific and Technical Archives of RSUH, Head of the Academic and Historical Department of the Feodorovsky Convent in Pereslavl-Zalessky, Head of the Student Association and Dr. Ivanna Ganzhara, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages of Institute of History and Archives of RSUH.
During the event, a meeting of the student team was held with sister Natalya, coordinator of the historical and cultural projects of the Feodorovsky Monastery, as well as with Rustam Yamoldinov, executive director of the Pereslavl St. Theodore Historical and Cultural Forum.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the academic, historical and cultural projects of the monastery, competitions for young scholars studying the history of Russian Orthodox monasteries, and the conference "The role of monasteries in shaping the socio-cultural space of the surrounding territories."
A decision was made that the students would make presentations at the conference on the history of monasteries in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Tours took place around the historical and architectural complex of the Feodorovsky Convent cultural heritage site and the historical territory of the Feodorovskaya Sloboda.
When visiting the Holy Trinity Danilov Monastery, Hegumen Panteleimon (Korolev) gave a tour of the temple complex of the monastery and invited the students to historical and spiritual talks about the ideological attitudes of medieval Russia with a demonstration of wall painting by the icon painter Gury Nikitin.
The students helped the monastery by carrying out various assignments. Members of the circle and its leaders express their gratitude to the inhabitants and staff of the monastery for the informative event.
