The Day of Master's programs held at RSUH

On March 27, an Open Doors Day was held at RSUH, during which applicants were informed about the M.A. programs and student life at the University.

The University organized meetings with heads and representatives of institutes, faculties and departments. Particular attention was paid to new areas of training, the competencies the graduates will receive, as well as their prospective career.

Dr. Igor Romashin, Associate Professor of the Department of Archival Studies, spoke about the program “Documentation and Documentary Heritage Management in the Conditions of Russian Modernizations”, and also emphasized the importance of a Master’s education for further professional development:

“Studying in a Master's program provides an opportunity for professional communication with different people and the acquisition of a certain social capital which will include the people you will meet,” said Igor Evgenievich.

RSUH focuses on the needs of the labor market and offers the programs that exist at the intersection of the humanities and technical sciences.

Dr. Oleg Anshakov, Professor of the Department of Mathematics, Logic and Intelligent Systems in Humanities, said that the program “Intelligent systems in humanities” is especially popular due to the global use of artificial intelligence in various fields, including the humanities.

“Our program was developed at the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics,” said Oleg Mikhailovich. “When it all started, our graduates were happily hired by such companies as Yandex and ABBYY, where programmers were required to have linguistic knowledge.”

The graduates of the department also work in such organizations as Ashmanov and Partners, Nanosemantics and Sberbank.

In addition, this year on the basis of the Institute of Information Sciences and Security Technologies of RSUH, a unique master's program "Organization and Technologies for Protecting State Secrets" was launched, aimed at training students to work with restricted information, including secret documents. Faculty members of the Institute said that this program will be very popular in the near future as many industries cannot live without information security specialists.

Within the framework of the sections, faculty members held a Q&A session. An important aspect for applicants was the opportunity to combine work with study: “If there is no extramural option, this does not mean that you cannot combine work and study. We perfectly understand the situation and will always meet the needs of our students,” said Dr. Zhuravleva, Head of the Department of American Studies.

Another important component of almost any Master's program is universal liberal arts knowledge and skills, enabling graduates to work as editors, journalists and researchers. For example, graduates of the Italian Center of RSUH, in addition to unique competencies and language practice, also receive serious training in philology from the leading specialists of the Center:

“Our graduates have a lot of opportunities due to their having been trained by good specialists. Our philologists can work, as practice shows, in all areas,” said Dr. Govorukho, Director of the Russian-Italian Center.
