On February 25, the 4th All-Russian Conference "Profession - Culturologist" was held remotely at RSUH.The Conference was moderated by Dr. Natalia Galushina, Chair of the Department of Sociocultural Practices and Communications.
The participants were faculty members and students of RSUH, RANEPA and Moscow State Pedagogical University.The speakers discussed work in the cultural sector, the impact of state policy on the work of a culturologist, practical possibilities of implementing project activities, specifics of cultural industries in Russia, etc.Particular attention was paid to the question of the possibilities and limitations of the work of a culturologist in modern socio-cultural conditions.
Dr. Galina Targytasheva, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Sociology of RSUH,made a presentation “Precarity in the Sphere of Culture”. “Project activity shows what becomes viable in current conditions, when creative workers already have permanentemployment or income, and, “for the sake of art”, get together and create some new cultural product,” the speaker explained.
The Conference participants also made presentations on liberal education in the context of the computer revolution, expert position in the modern literary industry, and the benefits of continuing education. A round table was also held at which the researchers discussed everyday life and competencies in the creative industries sector.
