On the 7th of April the VII international theoretical and methodological conference on problems of intellectuals was held in the Russian State University for the Humanities; it was initiated by the division of sociology and the center for sociological research of RSUH. This time the theme of the Conference was formulated as "The values of society and the values of intellectuals".
Dean of the division for Sociology of RSUH, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Jan Terentievich Toschenko opened the Conference. In the opening speech he noted that the values of intellectuals is one of the most important problems for modern Russia, and the values define the position of intellectuals in society.
The presentation of the book by N.N. Kozlova "The Soviet people. Scenes from history" was held in the framework of the Conference.
Representatives of 11 universities and academic institutes from the cities of Russia and Poland took part in the scientific sessions of the Conference. Theoretical and methodological problems of studying values, as well as the values of different social groups Were considered there. Also experts from Belgorod, Voronezh, Kazan, Ufa, Ulan-Ude, Saratov, Kursk and Moscow gave their addresses on the Conference.
