On the 11^th of April a Round-table on the theme: "Radical Nationalism and Russia: History and Modernity" was held in the Russian State University for the Humanities.

In the opening address, the Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities, Doctor of History, Professor Efim I. Pivovar stressed the significance of the problem for modern Russia, and the necessity to develop a system of measures aimed at training young people in a spirit of tolerance.

A member of the Public Chamber, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor V.A. Nikonov, and the deputy of the State Duma I.Y. Dines paid attention to need for drastic measures by the government, intended for struggle against the manifestations of nationalism in public life, especially with the use of nationalistic, xenophobic slogans in a political struggle. Particular attention was paid to the need of society in a new value system that could resist the mentioned forms.
