On the 19th of May, 2008, the presentation of the monograph by the rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities, Doctor of historical sciences, Professor Efim I. Pivovar "Post-Soviet space: alternatives of the integration" took place. The presentation, held at the division for history of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, was attended by leading specialists for CIS countries from the RSUH, M. V. Lomonosov MSU, Moscow State Institute of International relations (U) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RF, representatives of expert centers, students and postgraduates of the department of post-Soviet foreign countries of the RSUH and the department of CIS countries of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Introducing a monograph, Efim I. Pivovar stressed that the primary purpose of the book was the elucidation of the whole complexity and diversity of integration and disintegration processes in the huge space of the former USSR, analysis of various aspects of the activity of integration organizations on the basis of strict scientific approach, which is often lacking in the modern expert literature and Internet-editions. The author emphasized that the relevance of the monograph doesn't raise doubts, as it explores issues affecting not only the development of modern Russia and its surrounding countries, but also the interests of ordinary readers - the citizens of those States.
