On the 5-9 of November, 2008, The Russian State University for the Humanities took part in the International Show of Cultural Heritage in the exhibition hall of the Louvre (Carrousel du Louvre) in Paris.
In those days, arches of the Louvre gathered world-known and promising young masters of applied art, showing their work; and also government officials, representatives of education and culture, businessmen, which discussed the importance of the further joining of efforts for the conservation and revival of the cultural heritage’s objects. The Show, organized under the patronage of the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, was devoted to the close relationship of the questions for the conservation of cultural heritage with the development of patronage and cultural tourism.
Rector of the RSUH, Efim I. Pivovar, headed the delegation of our university at the International Show of Cultural Heritage in Paris. According to him, the participation of our university in the exhibition is largely made possible thanks to the efforts of Representation of the RSUH in Paris, and it was an important step in strengthening of international cultural relations.
Works of director of the Center for education "Artdesign" and photo-departments at the Humanities College of the RSUH, Galina V. Volkova, were shown at the framework of the exhibition showcased of our university. The exhibition of photo works by Galina V. Volkova, called "The windows of my homeland" was devoted primarily to Russia, its culture and traditions.
