On the 20-21 of November 2008 the Second International scientific conference "Oriental languages and cultures" took place in the Russian State University for the Humanities. This event was organized by the Department for oriental languages of the Institute for Linguistics. More than 80 scientists took part in the Conference; among them specialists of the different fields from Moscow, regions and republics of the Russian Federation, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. This year themes of problems were considerably enlarged: along with sections for oriental languages, literature, culture; sections, devoted to Philosophy and Art of the Orient countries were opened too.
