On the 27th of November 2008 an International round-table "Finishing of The Cold War: scientific and socio-political aspects" took place in the Russian State University for the Humanities in the framework of preparation to the Humanitarian Readings.

On the 27th of November 2008 an International round-table "Finishing of The Cold War: scientific and socio-political aspects" took place in the Russian State University for the Humanities in the framework of preparation to the Humanitarian Readings. The event was conceived not only as the presentation of the book "Turning Points in Ending the Cold War", published by Hoover Institute on War, Revolution and Peace in 2008, but, first of all, as an opportunity for discussion of debatable problems, touched upon in the book subject to realities of development at the beginning of XXI century.

The following persons took part in the work of the round-table: representatives of the composite author, and also scientists and experts from RSUH, MSIIR(U), MSU, Institutes for US and Canadian Studies RAS, Institute for General History RAS, Diplomatic Academy, Institute of World Economy and International Relations and also Universities of the USA.
