The meeting was held March 30 at which the Rector touched upon the issue of and emphasizing the importance of the world rating of Russian colleges and universities as a high rating would attract international students. Unfortunately, the ratings haven’t been very high and Dr. Pivovar thinks that global ratings agencies do not take into consideration certain factors. Dr. Pivovar talked about what the Rectors’ Union was doing to remedy the problem.
The Rector described special programs in foreign languages introduced at RSUH, fellowships for professors from abroad and the part RSUH is taking in the Russian repatriation program.
Dr. Pivovar also talked about Admissions-2010, saying that RSUH had been granted the right to conduct its own examinations for 10 majors. The enrollment expected will be 10 people per spot.
