The finals were held Sept 30, timed to coincide with the 20^th anniversary of the unification of Germany. The competition was organized by RSUH, Youth Exchange Foundation, the Embassy of Germany and Goethe Institute. 23 applications were received from universities all over Russia.

The winners were Ms Urieva (RSUH), Ms Pichugina (Bunin University, Elets), Mr. Mikheev (RSUH).
