Scholars discussed translation and interpreting

International online conference “Сhallenges in translation in Russian and South Asian studies” was held via Zoom.

About 500 participants took place in the conference dedicated to International Translation Day.

This was a joint project of 4 universities:

Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), Institute of African and Asian studies of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (IAAS MSU), Center of Russian Studies of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (CRS JNU), Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU).

About 70 scholars and translators /interpreters presented their papers and shared their experience and research in all aspects of theory and methods of translation from Russian into Indian and South Asian languages and back, translation studies and comparative literature.

The Round Table Russian-Indian Transcription and Transliteration was held at the end of the conference.
