Summer Institute of RSUH

Summer Institute operated at RSUH from July 29 to August 12. Young foreign scholars became acquainted with the achievements of Russian humanities. This international project was created with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Federal State Autonomous Institution "Sociocenter" with the aim of integrating foreign scholars into the scientific, educational and cultural environment of Russia.

Young scholars from Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan completed the advanced program "Historical processes in Eurasian space: methodology and new approaches to research".

The participants attended lectures, seminars and master classes organized by leading experts in the field of humanities from RSUH and partner universities: Tver State University, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Tolstoy Tula State Pedagogical University.

At the end of the training, the students, divided into teams, presented the following research projects:

• Digital humanities. Historian in the modern information environment;

• Academic and pedagogical schools of Russian humanities;

• History and modern processes of Eurasian integration;

• Comprehensive historical regional studies and regional studies of Greater Eurasia;

• Methodology of research into the history of international relations: modern approaches.

At the closing of the Institute, Acting Rector of RSUH Andrei Loginov said:

"Today, on this significant day, we are completing the work of the second Summer Institute, which is becoming a recognized high-level platform for young scholars from the CIS and neighboring countries. Over the past two weeks, you have acquired new knowledge and skills, reached a new level of communication. This is undoubtedly the key to a fruitful development of historical sciences of our countries. A sense of belonging to a common historical and cultural heritage is an important element in preserving and enhancing methodological practices in the academic and educational process. The tasks and projects that you were able to implement at the Institute, in particular the development of the digital humanities, proved that you are knowledgeable and competent. The Institute has given you a general direction for your academic activity."

Academic Director of RSUH Efim Pivovar said:

"Dear friends, I am very glad that the project, which we started together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation eighteen months ago, is developing successfully, opening up new prospects and opportunities for you. Congratulations to everyone on the successful completion of the course!"

"We are completing a very rich, intensive and at the same time interesting project. Today's session, during which proposals for the development of cooperation in various fields of education and science were presented, testifies to your high interest and the competencies acquired during the training. All the ideas outlined in the presentations will appear on the Summer Institute site," said Olga Pavlenko, RSUH Vice-Rector for Research.

The participants unanimously approved the Memorandum of the RSUH Summer Institute - 2024, after which all students of the project were awarded certificates of completion at partner universities and certificates of completion of the program "Historical processes in Eurasian space: methodology and new approaches to study."
