Meeting was held between the Acting Rector of RSUH and the Ambassador of Brazil

On August 5, 2024, a meeting was held between Acting Rector Loginov and the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares.

During the conversation, issues of cooperation between RSUH and Brazilian universities were discussed, which included the creation of the Russian-Brazilian Center, holding Brazil Days and the Film Club in Universities program. In addition, the participation of RSUH in the Forum of Rectors of BRICS Universities and in the 1st Forum of Rectors of Russia, Brazil and Belarus was discussed.  The 1st Forum will be held in Moscow on October 16, 2024.

“We claim to be a window into Russia for Brazilian universities in the field of social sciences and humanities. The 1st International Russian-Brazilian Center in Russia is operating at RSUH, where Portuguese is taught, research conducted and various cultural events held,” said Dr. Loginov.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Brazil highly appreciated the initiatives of the RSUH, mentioning the strong ties that have recently developed between the universities of the two countries, and also emphasizing that holding joint academic events would help expand knowledge about the achievements of Russian science, as well as promote positive dynamics of cooperation between universities.

As part of the development of bilateral relations, on October 15, 2024, RSUH will host a Round Table "International Academic Practices: Experience and Strategies for Future Development" with the participation of 25 rectors of leading Brazilian universities.

The meeting was also attended by Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of RSUH Vera Zabotkina, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy Marcelo Bohlke, Counselor for Culture Carlos Suzuki de Amorim and an employee of the Science and Technology Department Marcelo Laraburu.
