On June 30, the grand opening of a series of educational and outreach events of the international project "Summer Institute" took place in the Hall of the Academic Council of RSUH. The project is being implemented at the initiative and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Federal State Autonomous Institution "Sociocenter" with the aim of effectively integrating young foreign specialists into the Russian scientific and educational environment and developing a productive academic dialogue between researchers from different countries.

The project will enable young teachers and researchers from Abkhazia, Armenia, Belorussia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan toundergo a two-week training course under the advanced training program "Historical Processes in the Eurasian Space: Methodology and New Approaches to Research", which includes the tracks "Digital Humanities", "Historian in the Modern Information Environment", "Academicand Pedagogical Schools of Russian Humanities", "History of Science and Technology: a Common Heritage for the Future of Eurasia", "History and Modern Processes of Eurasian Integration", "Comprehensive Historical Area Studies and Regional Studies of Greater Eurasia", "Methodology of Research in the History of International Relations: Modern Approaches".

The event was opened by Acting Rector Loginov. In his welcoming speech, he said:

"The Summer Institute is a necessary tool designed to unite young scholars from the Eurasian space and neighboring countries. Historians and liberal arts scholars of these countries should be guided, if not by common, uniform academic and methodological approaches, then at least by those that are close and understandable to each other."

Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry Afanasyev greeted the participants via video:

"We are building Russia as a country of advanced humanities and technological research, creating conditions for the work and professional growth of young scholars. At the Summer Institute, you will be able not only to deepen your knowledge, but also to find new colleagues and like-minded people. I am sure that Russia will become a country of opportunities for you too."

Chairman of the Board of the Russian Historical Society Ruslan Gagkuev noted the great prospects opening up for the project participants:

"The Summer Institute is a wonderful practice that will allow you to better understand the history of Russia, become acquainted with the achievements of modern historical science and get to know each other better, because nothing contributes to the development of science as much as building horizontal links, especially between representatives of academic schools from different countries."

Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academic Director of the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Chubaryan said:

"Russia is the center of Eurasia not only geographically, but also due to the huge diversity of its religious and cultural-historical components. Therefore, understanding the role of our country in today's integration processes in the Eurasian space is especially important."

He expressed confidence that the Institute wouldbe a big step in the furthering of Eurasian studies and the development of new approaches to the socio-economic, cultural, value-relatedand civilizational understanding of Eurasia and modern Eurasianism in the context of the transformation of the world order towards multipolarity
