Council of Young Scholars of RSUH won first place in the project competition at the 12th All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scholars and Student Academic Societies

The Congress was held on July 14-17 at the Far Eastern Federal University. It is organized annually as directed by the President of the Russian Federation and is included in the Decade of Science and Technology.

Director of the Center for the History of Russian Science and Scientific and Technological Development, Chairperson of the Council of Young Scholars of RSUH Evgeniya Dolgovatook part in the Competition. She presented the project “Scientist on the Screen: Images of Soviet and Russian Cinematography”, implemented by the Science Studies Center of RSUH based on the resource “Catalogue of Soviet Feature Films about Science and Scientists in the 1918-1980s” (https://www.rsuh.ru/science/filmcatalogue.php). The topic has been updated in light of the Instruction of the President of the Russian Federation to ensure the production and distribution of feature films popularizing the achievements of Russian science. The presentation of the project reflected how a narrow research project could be transformed into a thematic event: a film club, a lecture hall, a quiz show. In her speech, Dr. Dolgova noted that the attention of mass culture to the sphere of science and inventions in the Soviet period of the country's history had become the basis of a unique experience of maintaining the prestige of the scientific profession.

The expert judges and the audience highly appreciated the project, noting its scientific and social significance.
