On October 5, in the Academic Council Hall, a meeting of students and teachers took place with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan, Mr. Mohammed Elgazali Eltizhani Sirraj
The meeting was opened by Vice-Rector Pavel Shkarenkov, who said: “Cooperation between Sudan and Russia has a wide range of prospects and is reaching a new level. Our University houses the Center for the Study of the Civilization of Sudan, which helps strengthen relations between our countries and the mutual integration of their cultures.”
Vice-Rector Vera Zabotkina expressed gratitude to Mr. Sirraj for his invaluable assistance in creating the International Research Center for the Study of the Civilization of Sudan.
Mr. Mohammed Elgazali Eltizhani Sirraj gave an open lecture, in which he highlighted the history of long and fruitful relations between our countries, and also spoke about the cultural characteristics of the Republic of Sudan and approaches to the study of its ancient history.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ambassador answered all the students’ questions and thanked the participants for their interest in the lecture.
Also present at the event were Dr. Eleonora Kormysheva, Director of the Center for the Study of the Civilization of Sudan; Dr. Filin, Head of the Department of Contemporarty Orient and Africa, and Dr. Khristoforov, Head of the Department of International Security, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
