RSUH Readings in Humanities - Day 4 (April 2)

The 25th International Conference "Title Phenomenon" opened the fourth day of the Readings. Faculty and students of Russian universities presented reports on the methodology of creating titles for Russian and foreign literary works. The organizer of the event was traditionally the Mandelstam Research Laboratory of RSUH.

On the same day, a presentation of projects of the Center for Cognitive Programs and Technologies, which celebrated its 10th anniversary, took place. The Center has held 13 international conferences with the participation of leading experts in the field of cognitive sciences from the UK, France, Germany, Hungary and other countries.

Dr. Vera Zabotkina, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, presented the project "Cognitive Science in Search of Answers to the Challenges of the XXI Century", which examines the transition to a new model of generation of knowledge.

Representatives of the Center on the History of the Holocaust and Genocides spoke about their activities. For example, the Center holds meetings with writers, publishes letters from the War years and implements projects aimed at covering the Holocaust and genocides.

Earlier, a new Master's program "Analysis and expert commenting on international processes" was opened at RSUH.

In addition, a presentation of the results of the project “Security and Civil Society in Russia and Germany during the First World War” took place at the proceedings. In 2019, within the framework of the project, RSUH hosted an international round table "Internment and deportation of the civilian population of Russia and Germany during the First World War (1914-1917)" (October 17-18, 2019, together with Freie Universität Berlin and the German Historical Institute in Moscow), where the project participants shared the first results of their work. The project is completed in 2021.

At the interactive exhibition “The Fates of Great Scientists: Dr. Chayanov ”, prepared by the students of the Faculty of Economics of RSUH, materials about the biography and main milestones of the professional activity of Alexander Chayanov, an outstanding economist, one of the largest theorists and organizers of the agricultural cooperative movement, were demonstrated.

Dr. Nikolay Korotaev Associate Professor of the Center for Linguistic Typology, made a presentation "Oral speech in two communicative modes: monologue and dialogue", which was devoted to the segmentation of the speech stream and types of self-corrections in monologue and dialogue.

On the same day, an international seminar "Dialogic Understanding" was held, within the framework of which reports were presented on the study of language, culture, history, politics, modern socio-cultural development of the francophone province of Canada.

The fourth day of the 16th International Forum of RSUH ended with a quest for students "Time Travel". The organizers were the Faculty of History, the Knorozov Center and the Department for Work with Students of RSUH.
