Center of South Asian Studies trains specialists combining fundamental knowledge in the field of Indology, history, international relations, political science, research of the BRICS and SCO countries, culture and art history with a number of practical competences.
Students of the Center study modern languages (English and an optional second European, Hindi, Urdu), acquaint themselves with the countries of South Asia (the Republic of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives, Afghanistan, the Kingdom of Bhutan).
Graduate and undergraduate students of the Center have the opportunity to study in India under agreements with a number of universities and research centers. An integral part of the studies are practical language semesters in the Republic of India allowing the students to compose high-quality term papers and theses that correspond to the modern level of Indology.
The Center enjoys close cooperation with the Embassies of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh.
