We are happy to present the book "Russian Immigration in Brazil" (2023), donated to the International Russian-Brazilian Center and to the RSUH library by the author himself, Jacinto Anatoly Zabolotsky. This is a deep historical and archival study with a large amount of documentary and photographic material, covering the period from the end of the 19th century to the present day, written in Russian. The book has gone through six editions, each time supplemented with the new facts.
About the author: Jacinto Anatoly Zabolotsky, the son of Russian emigrants, was born in the city of Campina das Missões, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Accountant, lawyer with PhD in Law, teaching at several universities in Brazil, Jacinto Anatoly Zabolotsky is an active citizen in the State of Rio Grabde do Sul: a conciliator in the Special Civil Court, an elected deputy of the municipal council of Campina das Missões, and a president of the municipal council of deputies since 1992.
Jacinto Anatoly Zabolotsky works hard to promote Russian culture in Brazil and to support Russian Orthodox Chruch in Brazil. He is a member of the parish council of the Orthodox Church of St. John the Apostle, a president of the Russian Cultural Society in Brazil, and a member of the coordinating council of compatriots "Rosszarubezhtsentr". Jacinto Anatoly Zabolotsky has three awards from Patriarch Kirill, including the medal of the Order of St. Sergius Radonezhsky, as well as a medal from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
