On the 15 and 16 of May 2006 the Conference "Russian language in translations" was held by the Institute for Linguistics of the Russian State University for the Humanities in conjunction with the magazine "Foreign literature" and the Union "Masters of the literary translations".

International conference "Russian language in translations"

On the 15 and 16 of May 2006 the Conference "Russian language in translations" was held by the Institute for Linguistics of the Russian State University for the Humanities in conjunction with the magazine "Foreign literature" and the Union "Masters of the literary translations".

The Conference was opened on the 15th of May in the Conference Hall of the Academic Council. Rector of RSUH, Efim I. Pivovar, said a welcoming address to the forum’s participants. He noted that the translation - is the real dialogue of cultures, offering to make conferences of such kind as traditional.

 
Director of the Institute for Linguistics of RSUH, M.A. Krongauz, expressed his gratitude to co-sponsors of the Conference.

The second part of the meeting was arranged at the Great Exhibition Hall of the Museum Center of RSUH and included two discussions: "Inartistic translation of belles-lettres" and "Language of translation - is language of thought: translation of humanity literature".

The Conference continued its work on the 16 of May 2006.
