On the 16of May, 2006, a solemn ceremony of opening the Days of Egypt of Russian State Humanitarian University and the international conference "Egypt and the Middle East countries: III millennium B.C. - I millennium A.D." took place in the Hall of Academic Council of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
On the 16 of May, 2006, a solemn ceremony of opening the Days of Egypt of Russian State Humanitarian University and the international conference "Egypt and the Middle East countries: III millennium B.C. - I millennium A.D." took place in the Hall of Academic Council of the Russian State University for the Humanities. Days of Egypt are held in the RSUH for the sixth time and became a traditional event within the framework of cooperation between Russian and Egyptian scientists.
The rector of the RSUH, Efim I. Pivovar, said a welcoming address to organizers and participants of the event. He noted that the conference, holding in the framework of Days of Egypt in the RSUH, covers four thousand years – it’s a considerable part, fixed in the written sources of world history. This fact makes to the Conference a special significance in the context of international historical knowledge, which scientists of our university actively analyze. Efim I. Pivovar expressed a special thanks to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt for their assistance in organizing of exhibitions and other cultural events, holding in the framework of the Days of Egypt. Besides, E.I. Pivovar paid attention to the fact that the Russian State University for the Humanities is one of the few universities, which have an opportunity to conduct excavations on the territory of Egypt.
