Hindi group students presented reports concerning the Radcliffe Line, the boundary demarcated between the Indian and Pakistan

Hindi group students of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Foreign Policy of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) held a monthly student scientific seminar "Interdisciplinary research in South Asia".

Subject: Radcliffe Line: division of territory. Wagah.

Amina Mukhametkhanova, a 4th year student, spoke about the history of the creation of the dividing line between the territories of India and Pakistan, proposed by the British government commission headed by Sir Cyril Radcliffe in 1947 during the partition of British India.

Maria Skorobogatova, a 4th year student, showed videos of the flag lowering ceremony at the border in the city of Vagah, which has been taking place every day since 1959.

Professor Alexander Stolyarov told the students about the terrorist act committed by a suicide bomber in Wagah on November 2, 2014 on Pakistani territory.

The students ' seminar is held every month at RSUH and is aimed at developing professional and scientific competencies among students studying Asian studies.
