"Memories of Indologist scholars' war time courage" was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH).
The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow in Russia.
There was announced a minute of silence in honor to eminent Indologist scholars before this patriotic event.
RSUH students presented their papers devoted to the biography of famous indologists of the 30-60s of the XX century as:
Dr. Vladimir Balabushevich,
Dr. Nikolay Goldberg,
Dr. Alexey Dyakov,
Dr. Igor Reisner,
Dr. Alexander Osipov,
Dr. Vladimir Liperovsky,
Dr. Vladimir Kornev, scholars in Buddhist studies.
These scholars promoted the Indology studies during the period of war. They became supervisors and teachers for many indologists scholars of XX century.
The students managed to collect the memories of the scholars, who were war children, their relatives and colleagues about life in the wartime and post-war years.
