RSUH and JNCC Embassy of India organized joint event named Virtual Day of RSUH. The cultural event was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of India, the 30th anniversary of the RSUH, the 90th anniversary of the Institute of History and Archives of RSUH.
Welcoming speech was delivered by:
HE Shri.D.Bala Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to Russia, emphasized the importance of such events, which are held jointly with the RSUH, for the Indian-Russian relations in the education sector. HE Mr.D.Bala Venkatesh Varma expressed his best wishes in honor of the 30th anniversary of the RSUH and wished success to the students who presented the cultural and creative program on this day.
Dr. Usha Radhakrishna, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Russia thanked RSUH for close cooperation with the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center. This cooperation is an important indicator of the development of cultural exchange in Russian-Indian relations.
Dr. Vera Zabotkina, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), expressed her sincerest gratitude for the event all the participants and organizers provided. She appreciated the multifaceted cultural program of Virtual Day of RSUH. “We are both very spiritual countries and we are beyond the material. And the correspondence between L. Tolstoy and M. Gandhi is not accidental, and it is no coincidence that Russian people love Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. " - told Dr.Vera Zabotkina, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation.
Cultural Program:
Dr. Tatiana Borisova, Head of student work, ART-Design Center ,member of the International Association of Designers opened the posters' exhibition "Reserves of Russia and India" created by 4th year BA students of the ART-Design Center RSUH. The 22 posters of the ART-Design Center RSUH students' Art exhibition made by Aksenova Tatiana Vitalievna, Gurevich Galina Igorevna, Ershova Daria Sergeevna, Zababurina Ekaterina Sergeevna, Zhurba Sofia Dmitrievna, Kiseleva Alina Dmitrievna, Lesner Ksenia Sergeevna, Nefedova Lyubov Olegovna, Kushch Evgeniya Andreevna, Hu Nguyen Zhi Chi, Lapkina Alina Olegovna, Zhidkova Polina Alexandrovna, Podobrazhnikh Maria Viktorovna, Simonova Ekaterina Mikhailovna, Feduleeva Ekaterina Igorevna were presented in an online format.
The cultural program was presented by students of the Ballroom Dance group of the Institute of the History and Archives studies -Kuznetsova Anna Alekseevna, Schelokova Anastasia Dmitrievna, Epova Irina Kirillovna, Peshekhonov Sergey Alexandrovich, Grigoriev Ruslan Radikovich, Ryabchenko Andrey Alexandrovich. The guest enjoyed the beauty of a figured waltz, a Russian lyrical waltz and dance in the Indian style.
Music compositions on the piano were presented by Pavel Frolov, 7th grade student H.Neuhaus Music School and Secondary School No. 1363. Three musical compositions were performed quickly in a brisk lively manner : Knight Rupert ( R. Schuman ), Piano Sonatina in C major (F. Kuhlau), The Mad Man With a Box (Murray Gold). Vadim Saliev, 1st year BA student of the Faculty of Archival Affairs of the Institute of the History and Archives (RSUH), played a jazz composition on the piano.
Dance in the Indian-Russian style “ Kalinka” was executed by 2nd year BA students of the Hindi group of Department of Foreign Area Studies and Foreign Policy, The Faculty of International Relations and Foreign Area Studies, Institute of the History and Archives: Maria Skorobogatova, Sofya Kiseleva, Amina Mukhametkhanova, Ekaterina Moskalenko. This dance fusion shows the similarity of Indian and Russian culture, which has been expressed through the prism of dance.
Students and teachers of RSUH recited poems in Russian, English and Hindi. Galina Kislik, professor , declaimed Nicholas Roerich's poem. The Hindi group 2nd year BA students and 1st MA student - ArinaNovikova, Maria Skorobogatova and Amina Mukhametkhanova recited R. Tagore's poems from the collection of poetry "Gitanjali " in Hindi and Russian languages.
