Department of Russian Language and Centre of Central Eurasian studies of the Mumbai UNI in association with the Department of International affairs of the Russian State University for Humanities, Moscow (RSUH) and Centre for South Asian Studies are organized the Olympiad on Russian language on February 2, 2020 (Mumbai, Maharashtra, India)
Russian as one of the first foreign languages begin to be studied at the University of Mumbai in 1964. The Department of Russian Language was established in 1993.
22 students of Mumbai UNI took part in this competition: Surekha Shukla, Samuilah Khan, Majov Naidu, Prasad Yadav, Pravin Tanvar, Minal Dongare, Ajit Manon, Bipin Benyamen, Argvan Rabbi, Vedant Madane, Lucas Samuel, Vijay Damodar, Karan Talgavkar, Khitin Mahar, Ozame Almeme Verme , Nikita Djuri, Adjaruddin Sheikh, Seulin, Sanjay.
The Olympiad was held in two difficulty levels: for beginners (A1 and A2), for students of B1). The results showed that 70% of students coped with the task of level B1 and 30% with a basic level.
The winners – Vijay Damodare (1st winner), Pravin Tanvar (2d winner), Vedant Madane (3d winner) and all participants were awarded with diplomas, calendars and bracelets with the logo of the RSUH.

The RSUH plans to conduct annual interactive competitions among students of the University of Mumbai by using a knowledge testing system.
