A monthly student cross-disciplinary research workshop was held on November, 28, 2019
at Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), Moscow, Russia.
The topic of the workshop was - “The Vedic Epic of the Ramayana: study and interpretation”.
The lecture was delivered by Sergey Serebryaniy, prof. Alexander Stolyarov and Dr Indira Gazieva. The seminar was attended by students of the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Institute of the History and Archives studies:
Daniela Todoroshchan, Ekaterina Moskalenko, Sofia Kiseleva, Maria Skorobogatova, Victor Toropov, Amina Mukhametkhanova, Julia Baryshnikova, Ksenia Panfilova, Nikita Kosmin, Julia Bryukhova, Maria Neumytaya, Alexandra Gorsheva, Serafima Savelyeva, Tatyana Parush, Anastasia Fedoseeva, Dana Ermolaeva.
Prof. Sergey Serebryaniy spoke about the emergence of the Ramayan epic and its various interpretations.
Prof. Alexander Stolyarov told students about the influence of the Ramayana on the Indian culture of neighboring Asian countries, such as Thailand and Singapore.
Dr Indira Gazieva told about the translations of the epic Ramayana.
