RSUH students discussed the Indian temples economy
Hindi group students organized the monthly student research seminar focused on the topic "Hindu Temples as a Powerful Sector of the Indian Economy." The article by Ranjit Kumar Bindhani and Jnana Ranjan Mohanty titled "Temple Economy: Uncovering the Core Contribution to India's GDP," published in the International Research Journal of Economics and Management Studies (IRJEMS), Volume 3, Issue 10, October 2024, was discussed.
Anastasia Shitikova, a second-year student, spoke about the impact of Indian temples on local economy: the contribution of temples to local businesses, tourism, and employment and how they influence various components of the economy. She also delivered a presentation on some of the most influential Hindu temples in India, including the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala, the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai (Tamil Nadu), and others.
