RSUH students and teachers listened to the lecture about puppet’s theaters performances in India organized by Anthropological club of Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre (JNCC) Embassy of India in Russia.
The speaker was Svetlana Ryzakova, eminent professor of RSUH and Institute of Anthropology of Russian Academy of science. The event held at D.P Dhar, Embassy of India in Moscow. The ethnographic film "Beniputul" by Nabakumara Duare about unique tradition of puppeteers of West Bengal was shown after the lecture.
Professor Svetlana Ryzakova told about the variety of puppet theaters in India: “kathputli” of Rajasthani tradition, the puppets of Karnataka, “Ishara”‘s contemporary theater performances and art and about Mr. Dadi Padamdzhi, Indian outstanding puppeteer.
