The topic of the workshop was: "Economic proposals discussed during the XVI BRICS Summit 2024 in Kazan (Russia)“
Prof. Alexander Stolyarov reminded the participants about the 16th BRICS Summit held in Kazan from October 22 to 24, 2024, which was attended by delegations from 35 countries and 6 international organizations. Prof. Stolyarov announced the final resolution of the Summit to the students.
Elizaveta Albitskaya, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Foreign Regional Studies Institute of the Histort and Archives, spoke about her direct participation in the BRICS Summit as a volunteer. She noted that the Summit was attended by approximately 20,000 guests and presented slide show on how the meeting of heads of various countries who arrived for the Summit was held, on the negotiations between the heads of state and the final resolution on the meetings.
Elizaveta mentioned the economic proposals, such as the creation of a BRICS depository system, the creation of an exchange for trading precious metals and diamonds, the creation of a new investment platform, the exchange of information between the managers of special economic zones in the BRICS territory and the BRICS Bridge payment system.
The monthly student research workshop is aimed at developing professional and scientific competencies in students studying Asian studies.
