India-Russia" – International online seminar of young researchers

Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (INDAPRYAL) jointly with the Russian House (New Delhi), International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL), Russian State University for the Humanities (Moscow), Moscow State Institute of International Relations Ministry of foreign affairs (Russia), Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow), Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), Bihar Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, (Muzaffarpur), Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune) and the University of English and Foreign Languages (Hyderabad) organized the "India-Russia" – International online seminar of young researchers.

Welcoming speeches were delivered by:

Professor Charanjit Singh, President of INDAPRYAL

Mr. Vladimir Tolstoy, President of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL)

Ms. Yulia Aryaeva, Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation

Dr. Elena Remizova, Director of the Russian House, New Delhi.

During the welcoming part, a presentation of the book by Professor Abhai Maurya “Literature – A Mirror Image of Life?” took place.

Eight sessions were conducted during two days to discuss the language, culture, translation, literature, pedagogy.

The moderators were well-respected teachers of Russian language and literature and translators from the JNU, Vikram University (Ujain), Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune), Punjab University (Chandigarh), English and foreign languages University (Hyderabad) etc.

 

On   November 8, the scholars' reports were devoted to topics such as:

- identity crisis in post-Soviet Russia (about critical study of novel «I am Chechen» by Herman Sadulaev) - speaker - Anju Rani (University of Delhi (India);

- the concept of «happiness» in Hindi phraseology, a linguistics analysis of phraseological units related to food in Russian and Hindi (speaker - Sushma Kumari from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. (Muzaffarpur);

- humorous expressions based on the stories of Mikhail Zoshchenko;

- linguistic features of Indian caricature.

- Eva Lekareva from Saint-Petersburg State University gave a presentation «Forest image in novel B. Bondopadkhaya «Once in the forest»;

- the report of Bhavana (JNU) concerning the concept of «happiness» in the phraseology of Hindi.

On November 9, the reports were devoted to translation, language learning, literary analysis, teaching methods in Hindi and Russian languages.

The interesting reports were devoted on:

- the role of intercultural communication in the training of highly qualified specialists from Russia and India (Yulia Bogdan, Krasnodar University of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs);

- the precedent phenomena in Indian cinema and their relationship with the sociocultural background (Anastasia Murukina, Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University);

- linguistic landscape of Indian megalopolis (Darya Моmotova Vladimirovna from the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University);

- modern processes and trends of linguistic changes (Alam Shadab, Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language (Moscow);

- on regional dialects and globalization (Jotsna Sunanda, JNU).
